Day 1: Paris

We made it to Paris! It was an uneventful flight, though we learned that it’s really hard to sleep in a mask and when the plane is just a teensy bit too warm.

Once we made it to our hotel (after a cab ride that was also pretty toasty), we spent a little while settling in and then ventured out for a Seine boat tour to keep ourselves awake and take in some of the sights. And a French Gin & Tonic.

Everybody needed a nap after that. For dinner we walked up to Place de la Contrescarpe and ate at a café. We waved at Paul Verlaine’s house along the way.

Tomorrow we take the train to Angoulème, and rent a car to drive to Bourdeilles. We’ve got some ideas for things we want to do when we come back to Paris next week!
